Religion Essay Sample

Dear Your Holiness,

My name is Tess Baker, I’m a year nine student at St Margaret Mary’s Catholic College. In class we have been learning about the Choice to Care, and developing an understanding of Catholic Social Teachings. The purpose of this letter to you is to inform you as to how Catholics can come together as a community for gender equality for women. Need a sentence here on the Sustainable Development Goals I am informing you about goal 5, to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.

In Southern Asia, 74 girls were enrolled in primary school for every 100 boys in 1990. In 2012, enrollment ratios were equal for boys and girls. In 46 countries, women now hold more that 30% of seats in national parliament in at least one chamber. Research is also showing that women are now being offered equal paying positions in the workforce as men as well as being involved in the planning and decision making within companies.

The principle of human equality is given that every human being is entitled to respect and self-respect/built-in worth only because she/he has been created in the image and likeness of god among all human beings. Every person is created in the image of God and redeemed by Jesus Christ. as a result, every person is worthy of respect simply because of being a human being. people do not lose the right to being treated with respect because of disability, poorness, age, lack of success or race.

This relates to the SDG because Gender equality for women is about having a fair go at something or being able to have an education.

Gender equality is a global issue it happens in every country it is a human right, but our world faces a (constant/not going away) gap in access to opportunities and decision-making power for women and men. Around the world, women have fewer opportunities for money-based participation than men, less access to basic and college, greater health and safety risks, and less political representation. (promising that something will definitely happen or that something will definitely work as described) the rights of women and giving them opportunities to reach their full (possible greatness or power) is critical not only for reaching treating men and women equally, but also for meeting a wide range of international development goals. Gave power to/permitted women and girls add/give to the health and working well and getting a lot done of their families, communities, and countries, creating a ripple effect that benefits everyone. CST says about how we should act and treat all human beings by giving people a fair go or “People can never forfeit their right to be treated with respect because God, not us, assigns it”. We can achieve gender equality by: educating girls, increasing literacy, rates among women, increasing early childhood development interventions, increasing women’s labor force participation and strengthening labor policies affecting women, improving women’s access to credit, land and other resources, promoting women’s political rights and participation and expanding reproductive health programs and family support policies.
My goal is that all parts/areas of (community of people/all good people in the world), including money-based participation and decision-making, and when the different behaviors, wishes and needs of women and men are equally valued. Helping out in fundraisers for gender equality, helping the poor, building houses for females/males without homes.

Yours sincerely,
